Ten Tumbao to Perform May 3rd for Brookline Arts Center Fundraiser

Brookline Household Hazardous Products Collection Day

The Brookline Department of Public Works, in cooperation with the League of Women Voters of Brookline and the Solid Waste Advisory Committee, will sponsor a Household Hazardous Products Collection Day on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 from 9 AM to 2 PM at the DPW Transfer Station, 815 Newton Street (follow signs from Hammond Street).  To respect the community’s religious obligations and observations, this event alternates between Saturday and Sunday.  This year it falls on a Saturday.

Coolidge Corner Merchants Association Launches Free Lecture Series

BROOKLINE, MA – The Coolidge Corner Merchants Association (CCMA) proudly announces the launch of its free Lecture Series running from March 25th through April 18th.  All events are open to local residents free of charge, but as space is limited, reservations are recommended.  The individual lectures will be hosted throughout Coolidge Corner sites during the series.  Details on each event, including the location and time is available online at the CCMA website.

Brookline Arts Center Benefit Reflects New Options for Cross-Cultural Socializing and Fundraising

 It may have begun in 1964, before they were born, but a new generation of artists have found a home and a community of friends at the Brookline Arts Center.

The Brookline Arts Center’s board knew what they wanted in 2001, when they voted to create a modern new art gallery in the cozy Victorian firehouse that has housed the grassroots center for art classes since 1968. They wanted their students and art lovers to visit more often.  After five years of monthly art exhibitions, and the expansion into two monthly exhibition spaces, hundreds of new and established artists, and art lovers, know that the place to find contemporary art is at the BAC.
